We like to think that at the George, Swaffham we cater for everyone's dining tastes. We already have a great reputation in the local area as the place to come to relax and dine, whether you are a resident or local. With the launch of our NEW main bar menu (see bottom of the page) we really feel that we have something for everyone.
Our new menu features all the classics that have made the George famous, but added a modern feel mixing pub classics with great new dishes, lighter bites and a great new steak section highlighting some of the finest cuts of meat in the area.
Breakfast…good morning
Start your day fully fuelled and enjoy a hearty breakfast. Offering a great selection of breakfast items from Tea and Toast, Cereals, Pastries and Fruit to a traditional Full English Breakfast cooked fresh to order. For those needing to hit the road early we offer a 'grab & go' breakfast option too. Breakfast is served Monday-Friday: 07:00 - 10:00 and bewteen: 07:30 & 10:30 at the weekends.
Mid Morning…
Enjoy freshly brewed Coffee and Biscuits whilst relaxing with a morning newspaper.
Lunch…
from lighter bites to three course meals we have something for everyone. Serving from 12.00noon until 14:00 you will be spoilt for choice from our extensive menu and ever changing daily specials board. So whether it’s a quick Sandwich or a formal 3 course meal you will not be disappointed. (Please note that lunch on Sundays is carvery style and times may differ from above).
Afternoon Tea… from £19.95 per person
Treat yourself to a delicious Afternoon Tea, which includes a range of handmade sandwiches, savouries, scones and delicious cakes. Booking is necessary, served between 12:00 and 14:30
Dinner is served…
From 17:30 until 20:30 in both the bar and restaurant, serving all your favourite dishes. Whenever possible using seasonal local produce such as Brancaster Mussels, delicious Cromer Crab, Norfolk Asparagus plus a good selection of local cheese including Binham Blue and Norfolk Dapple.
Don’t forget to try the famous ‘Chicken George’ for which the Hotel is renowned. Pan-fried Chicken breast in breadcrumbs, topped with Cheese, Norfolk Ham and Provençale Sauce served with Chips and Salad Garnish.
Liquid refreshments…
A warm welcome awaits in our Bar, with a real log fire. Our fully stocked Bar has a wonderful selection of Wines, Spirits, Lager and a great choice of local Real Ales. We serve great Coffee and speciality Coffees or maybe you just want a good ole Pot of Tea, well we can do that too!
